Becker the Elder

Becker is less than thrilled when his estranged father, Fred, makes an unannounced visit. Although Becker is unhappy to see his father, the others are instantly charmed by Fred’s easygoing, jovial manner. Despite Becker’s chilly welcome, Fred refuses to give up on resuming contact with his polar opposite son.

Was that…

I know that Dick Van Dyke was in this episode. It was funny to see him as Becker’s lovable father. Their conversation in the end was really touching, with Becker almost going after him when he left.

But I’m talking about that other cameo. Was that Jim Rash of Community fame? I am pretty sure he was, even though the data from TMDB doesn’t reflect it. It was funny to see him younger and with some hair on his head!
