Maine

Funny how a couple of days of frigid temperatures changed my perspective.

I saw the extended weather forecast for Portland, Maine, and I thought "hey, it's gonna be warm!"

This is a somewhat disappointing read for me when I'm still looking for a house in Maine... But also the article has great photos!

In Maine, a Rare Influx of New Residents, and a Housing Crunch

New arrivals over the last few years have fueled hopes of population growth, but workers increasingly struggle to find housing in a market gone wild.

This is all new to me. I'm definitely staying in today. How's everybody else's Friday going?

Back to work

Today is my first day back to work after the holiday time off I used for moving to Maine. Since I don't have a home office yet (because I don't have a home yet) I'm working from a coworking space in downtown Portland. Being able to walk to work is great, second only to wfh!

Another thing I kinda knew but I had forgotten, is the statewide ban on single-use plastic bags. The first time I went to the grocery store I had to buy reusable bags because I didn't have any. The second time, I forgot my bags in the car so I had to go back and get them. The third time I remembered my bags as I was walking into the store. So I guess next time I'll remember to carry them from the start!
