Happy Tuesday!
The snow storms in Portland, Maine, prevented me from walking to my co-working space downtown last Friday and yesterday. Today my brother in law gave me a ride so I'm back "in the office" and I completely forgot it was Tuesday; I confess I originally titled this post "Happy Monday!"
So that's how my day is going. Here's a selfie. How are y'all doing?
Back to work
Today is my first day back to work after the holiday time off I used for moving to Maine. Since I don't have a home office yet (because I don't have a home yet) I'm working from a coworking space in downtown Portland. Being able to walk to work is great, second only to wfh!
Another #Maine thing I kinda knew but I had forgotten, is the statewide ban on single-use plastic bags. The first time I went to the grocery store I had to buy reusable bags because I didn't have any. The second time, I forgot my bags in the car so I had to go back and get them. The third time I remembered my bags as I was walking into the store. So I guess next time I'll remember to carry them from the start!
I didn't know how spoiled I was in Durham, NC!
So far the most dramatic difference between living there and here in Portland, ME, has been the slow Amazon deliveries. I was so used to receiving packages the next day, sometimes even the same day, that waiting 5 to 7 days for deliveries here in Portland seems... Barbaric!
On the plus side, this will train me to be less dependent on Amazon. It's not like they need my money anyway.
